Directions

Lamisil is for oral use. It should be taken once or twice a day as recommended by your doctor. It will not be habit-forming. Use only on the condition that you are treating your skin conditions. Do not take with alcohol or marijuana, alcohol is a plant which contains the active ingredient terbinafine.

Caution

Nitrate-nitrite medicines are not likely to be used by people with certain medical conditions.

Lamisil should be used with caution in patients with kidney disease, liver disease or other liver or kidney problems. When using nitrate medicines, the risk of side effects is increased. You should discuss this risk with your doctor before you start taking Lamisil. The lowest effective dose is recommended for all patients with mild to moderate liver or kidney disease.

Lamisil should be used only with your doctor's approval. Lamisil may cause some unwanted effects, including sexual dysfunction and loss of sexual drive. Tell your doctor if these effects are severe or don't go away.

Avoid eating grapefruit or drinking grapefruit juice while you are taking Lamisil. Grapefruit can increase the levels of terbinafine in your blood. You should drink a light meal or snack before taking this medicine, as grapefruit can interfere with the absorption of terbinafine and cause some side effects.

Warnings

Do not take this medicine if you are allergic to Lamisil or any of the ingredients in this medicine.

Lamisil should be used with caution in patients with severe kidney disease.

This medicine contains terbinafine hydrochloride 11.2mg/g and should be used with caution in patients with severe liver disease.

• Tell your doctor if you have ever had an allergic reaction to terbinafine, to any other medicines or any other substances, or to any other medicines that have been found by your doctor to be affected by Lamisil.
• This is unlikely to be true for all patients. Before taking this medicine tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking other medicines regularly, or if you have not been taking any other type of medicine before taking this medicine.
• Tell your doctor or pharmacist if you are taking any other medicines including other medicines you buy without a prescription, and any other medicines that you may be taking. Some medicines may affect how Lamisil works. You may need tests or other medicines.
• This medicine may make your skin more sensitive to the sun. Avoid exposure to the sun. If you get skin infections, tell your doctor before using this medicine.
• Your skin may become sensitive to sunlight, especially after you have a sunbed for a while. Lamisil may help prevent such problems.
• If you get sunburned, get medical help or contact a doctor right away. Sunlight may kill some cells.
• This medicine may interfere with your if you have liver or kidney problems. Your doctor will be able to tell if you have liver or kidney problems.
• If you have any of the following conditions, your doctor will be able to tell if this medicine is right for you: allergic reaction to terbinafine, to any other medicines, or to any other substances in this medicine:

Description

Lamisil Cream is used to treat fungal infections of the skin including the following tinea infections: • Athlete’s foot - between the toes • Jock itch - groin and inner thigh area • Ringworm - commonly affects arms, legs, trunk or neck • Moccasin-type tinea - sole of the foot Lamisil Cream can also be used to treat skin infections caused by Candida, a type of yeast.

Dosage and direction are prescribed by the doctor. The cream should be applied to the affected area a few minutes before activity and for one week. If symptoms persist, consult your treatment.

How to Use Lamisil

If you have been prescribed Lamisil 1% Cream (the active ingredient in the gel), it will apply cream directly to the skin and ensure you get the full effect of the medication.

For most patients, you can apply the cream to the affected area twice daily (morning and evening). For jock itch, ringworm and athlete’s foot, you may apply the cream daily for 4-6 hours or as directed by a doctor. For most cases, you will need to take the cream daily for the full treatment.

Lamisil Dosage
